Raghavendra Swamy

Description

Shri Raghavendra Swamy was a Hindu scholar, the ologian and saint. He was also known as Sudha Parimalacharya. His diverse work include interpretation of the Principal Upanishads from the standpoint of Dvaita . He served as the pontiff of matha at Kumbakonam from 1624 to 1671. He was great devotee of Lord Krishna. Music flowed in his veins and the family of Raghavendrta Swamy were deeply involved in music. Sri Raghavendra swamy was also an accomplished player of the Veena . His shrine at Mantralayam – Andhra Pradesh – India attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors every year. Shri Raghavendra Swami attained Jeeva samadhi on Dwitiya Day of Sravana Krishna Paksha in 1671. This date is celebrated each year as Shri Raghavendra Swamy Aradhana at Brindavan all over the world.
